Agricultural Tour in Finland
1st day HELSINKI
Arrival at the Helsinki airport, where your English speaking guide and your coach are waiting for you. Bus transfer to the city centre and start to a guided city sightseeing tour to show more about this green city, also called the "Daughter of the Baltic". Visible from afar is the Lutheran Cathedral, the majestic symbol of the city and a welcoming landmark for approaching ships. The neoclassical Senate Square is the home of the Helsinki Cathedral, the University of Helsinki and the Government Palace. These were built in the 19th century when Finland was an autonomous part of tsarist Russia. The Uspensky Cathedral is the biggest Orthodox Church in Scandinavia. Modern architecture is exemplified by buildings such as the Finnish National Opera, the Temppeliaukio church, built into solid rock, and the Finlandia Hall congress and concert centre, designed by Alvar Aalto, the best known Finnish architect. The Sibelius Monument, a huge steel structure resembling a set of organ pipes, symbolises the music of the greatest Finnish composer. An absolute must on a tour of Helsinki is a visit to the "Rock Church". The walls are of natural Finnish rock and the ceiling is faced with copper wire.
The tour ends at your hotel in the city centre. Time for free disposal. Later in the evening the bus brings you to the Dinner at Lapland restaurant – enjoy ”an exotic piece of Lapland in the heart of Helsinki” with delicious specialties of the Lappish cuisine. 2nd Day HELSINKI-HÄMEENLINNA-TAMPERE
Breakfast. Your bus brings you to Hämeenlinna (105 Km) , Finland´s oldest inland city, beautifully located on the lake Vanajavesi. The main attractions in Hämeenlinna are the 13th century castle, the house where the composer Jean Sibelius was born and the Aulanko leisure centre.
Here you´ll visit at a beef cattle farm. The Hereford breeding began at the farm in modest conditions with only 6 Herefords back in 1976. Today there are over 650 Herefords, over 300 hectares of various crops and 120 hectares of paddocks and grassland. Good nutrition, crystal clear waters and moderate temperatures provide an excellent platform for the production of premium quality Finnish Hereford beef.
Drive to Visavuori. In Visavuori stands the studio-home of the sculptor Emil Wikström. The house was designed by Wikström himself and is now a very lively museum. There is also an exhibition pavilion for the work of Kari Suomalainen, one of the most famous Finnish cartoonists.
Here you go on board a ship of the Silver Line and enjoy a journey through a beautiful lake landscape to Tampere, the largest inland city in the Nordic countries, located in a beautiful environment and surrounded by nearly 200 lakes. Dinner on board.

3th day TAMPERE – KARKKILA - HELSINKI
Breakfast at your hotel. Short sightseeing tour in Tampere. Drive to Karkkila, where you´ll visit a farm with milk cattle. This farm is a presentation farm of Alva Laval. Here you can see Alfa Laval machinery in operation. Lunch is served at the farm.
In the afternoon visit at a cereal finish farm and at a farm with its own field sawmill. And as last you´ll make a visit at Ideapuu, a small firm, which makes wooden furnitures even to Mäntyniemi, the residence of the President of Finland.
Back in Helsinki your dinner is served in hotel restaurant.
4th Day HELSINKI
After breakfast leisure time to do some shopping, go for a walk, etc. Helsinki has many top quality department stores and shops which sell everything from Finnish furs to world famous Finnish design. Well-known brand names are Arabia, Iittala, Rörstrand and Hackmann. Stockmann´s – one of the biggest department store in Scandinavia - is packed with special goods and excitement: fashion, design, toys, delicacies, etc.
Make a visit at colourful Market Square, where stands groan under the weight of interesting wares, fruit, vegetables, flowers, Finnish specialties and art handicrafts. Right beside the Market Square is the Market Hall, a treasure trove of Finnish culinary delicacies.
Transfer by bus to the airport and flight to home - Goodbye - Näkemiin - Finland!
